Yesterday I woke up with a bruised feeling on the left side of the base of my head. Right where that big bone is behind your ear. It hurts when I touch it and when i move my head. It feels like I was hit in the head but I was not. So far I have had no relief and there is no bruise or visible mark there. Can you tell me if this is something I should be concerned about or maybe just a swollen lympth node. It is creating alot of anxiety for me.

It is definitely a swollen lymph node. Any sort of infection or injury may cause swollen lymph glands. You should consult a doctor and get the lymph node examined. If required, the doctor might ask you to get certain blood tests like CBC to diagnose the infection and suggest antibiotics thereafter.
