Due to car accident my father back side ribs are fractured and shoulder also fractured. Fracture is in left side. He is in pain from last 4days. What will be the options for diagnosis or medical treatment? Please help me to know about details of future cause or danger and what we can do?

In most of the cases of rib fracture, the injury heals on its own and surgery is not required. Taking rest and pain managements is usually what doctors recommend. Taking pain killers like ibuprofen and aspirin would help in reducing the pain. Taking extra rest and avoiding strenuous activities will help in easy recovery.
Surgery is planned only in very serious cases where there is risk of pneumothorax or injury to heart due to the broken rib.
