Vitamin D is essential and very nutritious for the body but tan becomes a huge scare. Sun tanning or simply tanning is the process whereby skin colour is darkened or tanned. It is most often a result of exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight or from artificial sources, such as a tanning lamp found in indoor tanning beds. Scientifically speaking tan happens because of the increase in a body pigment called melanin.  This same pigment is responsible for the colour of our hair, eyes, etc. Melanin can darken the skin colour to the extreme in just 24 hours, needless to say, direct exposure to heat activates this procedure. There is a healthy limit to everything, with a tan it’s the same. Angina Pectoris (Stable Angina) Causes, Symptoms, Risk Factor & Treatment

Angina is a type of chest pain that results due to the decrease in the blood flow to the heart. When there is decreased blood flow to the heart, it means that heart is lacking sufficient oxygen. Emotional stress or physical activities are the main causes of the pain. Angina Pectoris also called as stable angina is the most common type of Angina. Stable angina is predictable which means you can actually track the pattern of the chest when you feel the pain. On the other hand, unstable angina is another type of angina which occurs suddenly and gets worse over time.

Though stable angina is less serious condition both types of angina are the symptom of underlying heart disease.

What Causes Stable Angina?

Stable Angina is a condition when the heart does not receive sufficient oxygen supply. There are many factors that can possibly reduce the oxygen supply to the heart. Some of them are:

Angina, stable Angina, Angina symptoms, Angina risk factor

What are the Risks Factors of Stable Angina?

The risk factors associated with Stable Angina include:

  • Overweight or obese
  • Medical history of Heart disease
  • Diabetic patients
  • People with High Cholesterol or High Blood Pressure
  • Smoking
  • Lack of physical activities

Unhealthy diets, vigorous workouts and extreme cold and hot weathers can also stimulate stable angina in some cases.

What are the Symptoms of Stable Angina?

The pain that occurs during the stable angina is referred to as pressure or fullness in the center of the chest. The pain may be like a heavy weight resting on your chest or a mild squeezing of the chest. The pain slowly spreads from the chest to neck, arms and shoulders.

One may notice the following symptoms while suffering from stable angina:

The symptoms usually last for 15 minutes whereas in the case of unstable angina the pain is more severe and continuous.

How is Stable Angina Diagnosed?

Your doctor will run through your medical history and perform some tests such as ECG and angiography. These tests help to diagnose the proper functioning of the heart and if the arteries are blocked. You will also be asked to perform a stress test while which your heart rhythm and breathing will be measured. This helps to find out if physical activity triggers angina.  A blood test will also be taken to measure cholesterol and C-reactive protein levels (CRP). High CRP levels can also increase the risk of heart diseases.

How is Stable Angina treated?

Treatment for stable angina includes changes in lifestyle, medication, and surgery.

Lifestyle changes: Certain lifestyle changes can help prevent future stable angina. These changes include regular exercising, eating a healthy diet consisting of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, nuts, etc. One should also quit smoking. These changes will help in the long run and reduce the risk of diabetes, cholesterol, and high blood pressure.

Medication: nitroglycerine is usually prescribed which relieves pain associated with stable angina. You will also have to take other medications to stabilize your blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol levels.

Surgery: Angioplasty is often recommended to treat stable angina. The blocked arteries can be surgically treated using surgery. Angioplasty involves a balloon which is inserted into the arteries and inflated to a required size. A stent is placed to keep the blocked artery open.

The condition often improves with medications. In addition to this, adapting yourself to lifestyle changes will reduce the chances of future stable angina.

You can even call or book an appointment with doctors on our website to ask your queries or have a free consultation.

Dehydration is a loss of water from the body compared to water intake.

10 Sign that You are Suffering from Dehydration:

Here are top ten signs to help you determine if your fluids levels are hitting an all-time low!

1. Fatigue sets in

When there is heavy loss of fluids from the body, blood flow, and blood pressure drops. This causes muscles to burn out due to profusely sweating after exertion.
10 signs that you are suffering from dehydration

2. Headaches

A drop in body’s fluid levels leads to the reduced amount of fluid surrounding the brain which protects it from mild bumps and movements. This can be a cause of severe headaches. Also, dehydration can lead to reduced flow of blood to the brain. So maybe if next time you suffer from a nagging headache instead of a pill u can take a glass of water.
If it’s due to dehydration it’ll go away soon.

3. Brain fog

Lack of concentration or ability to retain or remember things can be signs of dehydration. As brain has a high water content in it. Thus the loss of water will affect your decision making, memory, loss of focus and mood.

4. Bad breath and dry mouth

Due to lack of water, the saliva production in the body goes down Saliva has antibacterial properties. Less saliva in the mouth can lead to dry mouth and increase of bad breath causing bacteria.

5. Constipation and other digestive issues

Water helps in keeping the digestive tract lubricated, flexible and clean. Loss of water can also cause stool hardening and lead to constipation. Also low water levels in body cause heartburn and even indigestion.

6. Sudden food cravings

Sudden food cravings for salty food can be due to loss of water n electrolytes. And craving for sweet food is due to difficulty in glycogen production. When the body is dehydrated, it sends brain false signals that you are hungry when u are actually thirsty.

7. Change in color of your pee or reduced urination

The body excretes toxins through urine. Regular urination is crucial for the body. If there’s a change in your urine color especially if it’s darker in color is an indication of dehydration.

8. Joint and muscle pain

Water is important for the joints. It keeps them lubricated. Lack of water in the body causes the bones to grind against each other. It also causes muscle contractions this resulting muscle pains.

9. Scaly, dry skin and lips

The largest organ of the human body is skin. Dehydration causes less sweating which may hinder the body to wash away excess dirt and oil on the skin. This may lead to increased risk of acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

10. Accelerated heartbeat

Dehydration causes decrease in essential body fluids like plasma.Low plasma level decreases blood viscosity. This affects blood circulation and increases your heart rate. These are prominent signs of dehydration. The ultimate cure and prevention are to keep yourselves hydrated. Carry your own bottle and keep refilling it!
