Answer for Antibiotics and Infections.

This would be great that instead of going hit and trial and using medicines without knowing the exact problem, you should get few tests like colonoscopy, lower abdomen ultrasound, and stool culture test. Depending upon the findings, antibiotics and other medicines could be prescribed.

Antibiotics and Infections.

Ok so I ‘think’ I have an internal infection starting from my anus (history of hemroids and anal fissures). I can feel my anus being moist and when taped with a tissue I can see there are small drops of water/pus absorbed that also has a particular smell to it. Doesn’t smell like stool or fart but hard to describe the smell.
The problem is I don’t have a fever and I’ve had these symptoms for a while but the doctor didn’t think its infection. I can feel my body getting warm (esp at night) from the waist down but there’s never any fever when I check.
The other problem is I don’t have access to a doctor right now. I’ve moved back to India and live in a small village. The best I can do is get antibiotics online but don’t know which one would be the best.
Also I used to live in UK until recently and as part of the study programme was registered with health service. I’ve had these same symptoms for a few years now and while getting my treatment from the GP for my anal fissure I blatantly asked the doctor that I feel its getting infected. The doctor assured me that its not infected and that it would be a hell lot painful if it was.. Went 6 months later to a different doc and was told something similar.
I’m so confused if it is infection or not and its driving me crazy. I feel slight internal numbness around the right side of my stomach (couple inches right of my belly button) and I immediately feel it might be the infection growing. But at the same time there’s no pain and 2 doctors previously said there is no infection (last check up was around a year ago now). This is diving me crazy.
I feel like ordering a bunch of antibiotics and just go through a course just for the sake of it. Maybe the smell or moisture stops, or at worst nothing changes and I put myself at a little more risk by doing a 14 day course (antibiotic resistant and all).
Please please please help. I’d greatly appreciate it.

10 Surprising Facts about Antibiotics

“Antibiotics”, the most popular word from the scientific world of health and medicine jargon. Everybody everywhere is familiar with it. But there are some facts you may not know about the all-loved antibiotics and here’s a quick guide to 10 lesser known facts about antibiotics.

  1. They cannot distinguish between the good and bad bacteria. Yes, you heard it right! Antibiotics are given to treat any bacterial infection by killing the microorganism but, it does not come with a brain of its own. And a continued intake of antibiotics can disrupt the balance.
  2. They may disrupt the intestinal metabolism. While entering the gastrointestinal tract, they tend to destroy the beneficial bacteria thereby disrupting the balance creating a condition called dysbiosis.
  3. The bacteria can become resistant to them.
  4. They cannot cure viral infections as they work only against bacteria and nothing else, which means it is not for common cold or flu.
  5. Antibiotic resistance is a thing. Any antibiotic taken can cause resistance. It is caused by bacterial resistance to antibiotics which is the result of changes in the bacterium’s DNA, which makes it resistant. One bacterium with a mutation can survive the antibiotic it reproduces millions more with the same resistance within a day. Antibiotic resistance is life threatening and can be caused by the misuse and overuse of antibiotics. It can create diseases that cannot be treated at all.
  6. There are bacterial infections that the antibiotics cannot treat. These infections include things like tuberculosis, skin problems, and sexually transmitted diseases.
  7. Contrary to popular belief, antibiotics are not only taken to cure the illness. Yes, in fact they are often used in food animal production and not only to treat sick animals but also as a means to offset the effects of overcrowding and poor sanitation, and to spur animal growth.
  8. Never borrow antibiotics. They are prescribed according to the type of bacteria and the borrowed one may not work properly and can be dangerous. Same goes for those kept for later use. Do not save any for later use.
  9. It takes at least 10 years and a billion dollars to develop a new drug and bring it to market.
  10. Modern medical treatments such as operations, transplants will become impossible to treat without antibiotics.

Antibiotics overuse

It is very strange that the doctors prescribe antibiotics for every second complication. To add to its complexity, cases of self-recommended antibiotic is also not less. People don’t hesitate using them even for a common cough and cold. The simple fact is that cough and cold are viral infections and can’t be cured by any antibiotic which are meant to destroy bacteria. Although, in cases of prolonged infection, secondary bacterial infections do occur, for which doctors are supposed to prescribe antibiotics after proper evaluation. But definitely, they are not required in every such case.

Due to their overuse, more and more bacterial strains are getting resistant to antibiotics which is a cause of urgent attention and concern. The government should keep a proper check on their circulation and make them a strict prescription drug.

my-husband-and-i-and-recurrent-utis

hi i\\\’m married for 10 months..I\\\’ve been suffering this recurrent uti\\\’s maybe even before February.. but it\\\’s then when I couldn\\\’t handle anymore pain.. some doctors says nothing is wrong, others wait for lab results for diagnosis to give a proper treatment (which sometimes nothing and sometimes mild inflammation 4 – 6 pus cells and culture negative)and others they give their judgment on the basis of what they see on ultrasound, that is deposits affecting right kidney. ..I took antibiotics drank a lot of water but nothing seems to be working… I don\\\’t know what to do… it\\\’s damaging life in every way.. I\\\’m supposed to be fine and having no fertility problems according to my gyn .. these past ten days I had sensitive nipples then breasts then had a missed period.. with a few cramps that would rest when I lay down.. I was extremely happy believing these ar early pregnancy symptoms.. because I almost never have sensitive breasts or a bit of darkening of nipples before my period unfortunately I couldn\\\’t go to see a doctor at an early time and those symptoms started going away little by little… I started spotting late Wednesday night and after 12 hours maybe it got a bit heavy… when to a doctor after the start of spotting by 16 hours… couldn\\\’t see anything… and test came negative.. she said its a late period caused by improper treatment of uti… I was devastated at the time… my husband on the other hand had a uti caused by proteus organism in april… got cured… and now his other uti is caused by staph. could it be my uti\\\’s causing his? or vice versa… does his uti cause problems of fertility thus causing miscarriage? why is he keep having these organisms.. is it true my uti affects my period and thus fertility problems?.. I am waiting for your wise explanation.. hopefully helping me to at least have a good sleep. . please
