Medical Question & AnswersCategory: PregnancyWill I be able to get pregnant?
Amanda asked 7 years ago

I am a nineteen year old female. My hormones has been out of balance for quite some time, and I haven’t went to see a doctor about it yet. My grandma had menopause at 45, and my mom had it at 36 years old. I’m not currently trying to get pregnant, but I’m extremely worried that I will also hit menopause early or have difficulty having kids. I am very family-oriented and hope to have many children myself. But i am very worried because of this.

You are still 19 my dear. Why are you so much obsessed about these things. You have a lot of time left. Still, if you want to rule out any future adversity, you may get the following blood hormones tested: follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E2), AMH, prolactin, testosterone (T), progesterone (P4), 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP), thyroxin (T4), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). If any abnormality is detected, you may start the medications accordingly so as to prevent any chance of early menopause.
