A typical PET scan diet is as follows: 12 hours before your appointment: You will be asked to eat a low carbohydrate diet. Foods that can be eaten include: meat, hard cheese, tofu, eggs, butter and vegetables with no starch. Eating sweets is not allowed before PET Scan. The reports might be incorrect because of this and your doctor might advice you to get yourself another scan.
