Ayurveda

Term ayurveda means science of life, the word is taken from Sanskrit in which ayur = life and Veda = science, and it is derived from athrawa veda one of the four Veda according to Hindu religion. So ayurveda is the science of life which tells us about all the physiological activity of our life, it deals with all the diseases known at that time along with their treatment by various medicine obtain from various parts of plants e.g. root, stem, leaf, flower, bud, fruit and seed. Ayurvedic system of medicine also provides some information of surgical techniques like kidney removal etc.

Ayurvedic system was started about 3000 years ago in India and from that time it is a central method of treatment of diseases in India.

The first person who explain medicininal use of plants for diseases was Charak , he was also known as father of medicine he describe his foundings in his book charak smhita, while Dhanvantri is known as god of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is purely Indian origin technique of medicine and so many medicinal plants are found in Indian Territory. E.g turmeric, Ginger, Tulsi, sarpgandha, China rosa, Amla, Bhumiamla and aswagandha etc. India has got patent of some medicinal plants of Indian origin. E.g. Turmeric.

Nowadays ayurveda is worldwide accepted and so many health center are available in India and foreign for ayurvdic treatment.

Main advantage of ayurvedic medicine is that it does not show any side effect or adverse drug reaction like allopathic medicine on our body.
